THE WAY OF WISDOM

     Man fails miserably in his attempt to direct to his own path.Instead of acknowledging God and adhering to his directive,statues and commandments,many constantly violate His decrees.And man's greatest folly,resulting from His own corrupt mentality,is his rejection to God's every existence.The bible declares thus the PSALMS 14:1"The fool has said in his heart,'There is no God'.They are corrupt,They have done abominable works,There is none who does good".

     Man is suffering for having a foolish heart.Yet,in God's great compassion for man ,He is still trying to reach out to him to help him.This is what God declared:"I have led you in right paths.When you steps be hindered,And when you run,you will not stumble.Take firm hold of instruction,do not let go;Keep her,for she is your life".

    To emphasize the value of God's commandments,the bible uses many vivid descriptions:the Psalmist reffered\\\\\

DO YOUR BEST

      So that Gods blessings will continue to follow to every household,each members of the Christian family ought to constantly obey him.In view of this the Prophets Moses gave this reminder to the ancient Israelites,Thus "Then you and your son and your grandson will fear the Lord your God.You will obey all his Laws that I tell you,all the days of your life.And then you will have a longer life.....Keep these words in your heart that I am telling you today.Do your best to teach them to your children.Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you get up''.
      So timely is this reminder to Christian parent,their children,as well as their grandchildren to fear the Lord on all the days of their life, for ,obedience to Him is a lifetime commtiment.Thus,Iglesia ni Cristo parents are constantly reminded to do their best in teaching their children at all opportune times\.Parents ought to pass on their children the virtue

MERE SOJOURNERS AS WE ARE

                                             This earth is not our permanent home,
                                             That we ought to understand;
                                             For we are mere sojourners here,
                                             On our way to the promised land.

                                             Everything we have is borrowed --
                                             We do not own anything at all;
                                             Our strength?Our life?
                                             Yes,even our very soul!

                                             We owe them all to the Father,
                                              Who made things,great and small;
                                             Earth,sunshine,and raindrops,
                                             Causing leaves to sprout and fall.

                                             The air we breathe,the food eat --
                                             All these come from him:
                                             And what does He have in store for us?
                                             A bright future,not dim.

                                             For out of darkness He took us,
                                             His wondrous wisdom opened our eyes;
                                             Setting us free from the bondage of sin
                                             Made us see the trut,abhor the lies.

                                             Persecutions,notwithstanding,
                                             We stood our ground with much resolve;
                                             Through good and hard times we remain,
                                             CHURCH OF CHRIST members,faith unmoved!

                                             Now as we go on toward perfection--
                                             Marching our way to spiritual maturity;
                                             With a humble and contrite heart,
                                             Let us all bow our heads to our ALMIGHTY.

MARIA CACAO

     On the highest mountain of Argao,in the enchanting cave of Lantoy,there lived a very beautiful woman called Maria Cacao.According to old folks,she was a nymph who would sometimes descend and appear to the townspeople when the moon was full and shimmering brightly.Her long black tresses waved and shone like the rolling ocean waters when themoonshine struck them.Her finely-chiseled nose and lips appeared clearly drawn on her smooth ceramic face.Her eyes twinkled like the stars in the heaven as her long immaculately white dress floated above the ground.Her beauty matched her character of generousity anf humility.
      She was called Maria Cacao after her huge cacao plantation on the  mountain and its slopes.In fact,she would occasionally travel to Americato sell her cacao.
      From her travels,Maria Cacao usually brought home new utensils,silverware,and chinaware.The townspeople used to borrw this items for weddings,baptisms,and other feasts.It said that anyone who wished  to use Maria Cacao's thingssimply asked for them at the mouth of the cave.Next day,without fail,these things would be delivered to his or her door.
      For her trips,Maria Cacao used a gigantic golden ship.Because of its size,sometimes its mast would snag the bridge of Argao,so that the bridge would collapsed.
      When the Americans were about to construct a concrete bridge in Argao,the people said to one another:"The new bridge will have to be very high so that the golden ship of Maria Cacao cannot touch it".
      One day,an engineer went to Maria Cacao cave and pleaded,"Please,Maria Cacao's,promise not to pass by the Argao river so the bridge will not be destroyed again".
      Maria Cacao is said to have agreed.Hence.nothing has happened to the useful bridge of Aragao.
      However,the people cannot borrow utensils for their celebrations anymore.Nor have they seen Maria Cacao roaming and visiting them.Well,it is said that Maria Cacao has learned a lesson.Some townspeople have failed to return things borrowed from her;thus,Maria Cacao no longer appears to the townspeople.
      Sometimes,when the townspeople hear that the bridge of Dalaguete,Manipis,or Manga is destroyed,they say:"Now she probably moved to another place and has to pass by another river."
